AR111 reflectors are powerful bulbs that tend to be used in large quantities to light sizeable displays, and despite possessing a shorter lifespan than modern equivalents such as LEDs, a halogen AR111 will still typically last a respectable 3,000 to 4,000 hours. Its fair to say that halogen in general isn't as frugal with the power as the likes of LED or CFL, but still, advancements in design have meant significant improvements over 'basic' incandescent lighting.
A brighter-burning halogen gas may be used to decrease the necessary use of wattage for the same output. Additionally, IR-reflective coatings inside the halogen inner-capsule also help the filament burn more brightly, resulting in more economical use of power.
An ace up halogen’s sleeve
Halogen being a form of incandescent lighting makes it peerlessly colour-accurate, which is a separate issue to the temperature of white. A continuous spectrum means you can subject halogen to the scrutiny of your eyes or imaging sensors alike and be rewarded with a natural light that’s easy to handle, easy to colour-correct and neutralise, and impressively bright. That makes it great for displays and a superb choice if you want to ensure the colour of your product or artwork gets across accurately.
Low Voltage AR111 Spotlights are usable with a 240V to 12V low voltage transformers, and deliver a potent output suitable for illuminating large display areas.
