LED PAR & Reflectors

Reflectors are spotlights, and spotlights reflectors, but here let’s look at the different types of LED reflector.

A quick run-down of LED advantages might include the following: incredibly long-lasting (up to 50,000 hours), cool running and energy-efficient, eco-friendly with minimal CO² emissions and no use of mercury. LED is an investment likely to deliver a quick return for any business owner.

Let’s see the halogen counter-punch: halogen weighs in with its natural form of light? The popular GU10, MR16, MR11, AR111 spotlights, all deriving their name from a standardised size, can be replaced by halogen.

Here they all are slightly expanded upon:

GU10

The GU10 is a mains-powered spotlight very commonly used in a wide range of fittings, from ceiling spotlight plates, to track lighting, to desk lamps.

MR16

An MR16 LED reflector is often low voltage and has a two-inch diameter (16 x 1/8thinch). The ‘M’ stands for multi-faceted, which refers to its multi-edged interior design.

MR11

Similar to the MR16 but a smaller lamp: 11 x 1/8th of an inch amounting to a 1inch and three-eighths diameter. Also often used in low voltage lighting in conjunction with an LED driver.

AR111

Larger spotlights that tend towards powerful output and which are commonly used in commercial environments such as a shop.

PAR Lights

PAR lights are defined by their parabolic, U-shaped reflector, and offer an extremely well defined and controllable beam - a reason that bigger versions are often used in stage lighting.

These are the more common reflector lamps, and with LED being typically up to 80% more energy-efficient than incandescent solutions they’re likely to bring a quick return on any initial investment. You should be aware that low voltage LED lamps typically require a dedicated LED driver, as they’re more sensitive to fluctuation in current than other technologies and prone to damage if hooked up to an unsuitable transformer.

Step into a modern spotlight by investing in money-saving LED reflectors!

LED colour bulbs

LED colour bulbs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, whether golf ball shaped or in the form of reflector lights, you stand a good chance of finding the right type of light for what you have in mind.

If you’re creating a festoon or party lighting arrangement you might very well opt for the fun spherical golfball style light. These are available in a variety of colours, and with all the advantages that LED offers -not least of all lifespans that endure for anything from 20,000 to 50,000 hours.

For a professional party organiser or perhaps a club owner, this is almost a no-brainer of an investment! Sure, incandescent alternatives are cheaper, but they’ll expire after a year or so, without warning, because they’re hot and fragile and inefficient. If you have any kind of extended need for decorational lights, LED colour bulbs are the way to go!

LED colour bulbs are also available in reflector, spotlighting form, whether you need a mains-powered GU10 or low-voltage MR16 or MR11 lamps. The colour reflector bulbs are great for producing vibrant displays, or perhaps you’re looking to create mood with a specific hue? Colour bulbs are a creative choice for many purposes, and the best thing of all is that you may only need to buy an LED colour bulb once! Okay, possibly twice, but they’re tough and pretty much maintenance-free.

Eco-friendly, energy-efficient, cool-running, and extremely long lasting, LED colour bulbs are a sensible means of perking up your business.
